There are certain things that I expect from my pupils.
1. To always try your best. I do not except blanks for any questions given. Even if you do not know, you will try. To leave something blank means to give up, which is something I do not like. You never know how much you can achieve till you try. Always believe and have faith in yourself.
2. Ask when in doubt. I don't bite so when I ask a question, please try to answer. I do not like to call on people but when the need arises, I will have to. And when you do not understand something, please ask. Do not ever think that your question might be silly. By asking, you will learn. Do not wait till the day of your exam to ask. You should always clarify as soon as possible.
3. Listen attentively during class. I will always highlight important points so it pays to be attentive. This also means that you should not be chatting with your friends or writing notes when I'm teaching. Also, if your friend is asking/answering a question, you should give your fullest attention.
4. To hand in homework on time. This is something that is definitely non-negotiable, especially since you all are now in P5. There might be more homework compared to the previous year but the teachers do look at the board when we give you work to ensure you are not overloaded. I give reasonable deadlines as well. Unless u have a valid reason (go for competitions/absent etc), I do not see why you cannot finish your homework. Besides, remember that your unfinished work will just accumulate and it will not do you any good in your learning.
5.To be honest. Honesty is defintely the best policy so no copying of homework or cheating during tests/exams. If you did not do not your homework, I would rather you tell me honestly (with a reason of course) than to lie.
Lastly, I value feedback from my pupils. So, if you think that I'm going too fast or you feel that certain things could be improved/done in a different manner, you can always let me know. After all, I'm here to help you learn. We will all move forward together!=)
